Spindletop Unitarian Church

Spindletop Unitarian Universalist Church is a member of the Unitarian Universalist Association of Congregations, which consists of over 1,000 churches and fellowships in North America. Originally, the Unitarians and the Universalists were two separate denominations, which each developed independently. Over a period of 200 years, from the late 18th century to the later 20th century, the views and values of Unitarians and Universalists gradually converged, until in 1961 they merged to create the Unitarian Universalist Association. The headquarters of the UUA is located at 25 Beacon Street, Boston, Massachusetts, 02108.

We offer no rigid doctrines, instead we provide a congenial, intellectually stimulating environment in which you are free to speak your own answers and are encouraged to fashion your own faith. Because ours is a message of religious tolerance, our services are varied. Some deal with social issues. Some seek a better understanding of religion and morality. Some seek inspiration from the arts and humanities. Some celebrate Nature and our place within it. All include the enjoyment of friendship and fellowship. We would love to have you come join us!

The member congregations of the Unitarian Universalist Association affirm and promote:

The inherent worth and dignity of every person

Justice, equity, and compassion in human relations

Acceptance of one another and encouragement to spiritual growth

A free and responsible search for truth and meaning

The right of conscience and the use of the democratic process within our congregations and the society at large

The goal of a world community with peace, liberty, and justice for all

Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part
