Spindletop is a diverse congregation of spiritual seekers who come together to listen and learn, speak and discuss, pray and sing, doubt and ponder, share and socialize. As a Unitarian Universalist congregation, we affirm and promote seven principles that serve as a moral guide. We do not feel that we all have to believe the same things in order to be a religious community. Ours is a church family of mutual respect and acceptance for all in a friendly and intimate setting. We offer no rigid doctrines, instead we provide a congenial, supportive environment in which you are encouraged to pursue a free and responsible search for truth and meaning.
As our bylaws state, the purpose of Spindletop Unitarian Universalist Church is “to seek, to express, and to implement spiritual values in accordance with the principles of a free faith, affirming the practice of a free and responsible search for truth and meaning; the supreme worth and dignity of every human being of every race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, and ability; the use of the democratic process in human relationships, and the responsibility of actualizing our ideals through dedicated service.”
