Spindletop is a diverse congregation of spiritual seekers who come together to listen and learn, speak and discuss, pray and sing, doubt and ponder, share and socialize. As members of a creedless religion, we do not feel that we all have to believe the same things in order to be a religious community, but we do feel that community is vital to our religious life. Ours is a church family of mutual respect and acceptance for each of our individual perspectives and values in a friendly and intimate setting. We offer no rigid doctrines, instead we provide a congenial, intellectually stimulating environment in which you are free to speak your own answers and are encouraged to fashion your own faith.
Spindletop is a member of the Southern Region of the Unitarian Universalist Association of Congregations. Unitarian Universalism is a religion that celebrates diversity of belief and is guided by seven principles. There is no formal conversion process so becoming a "UU" is simply a matter of self identification. Membership is voluntary and does not require renouncing other religious affiliations or practices.
